• Session tokens — stored locally on your device to keep you signed in (never on our servers in readable form)
• Story preferences — length, moral, tone, and customization choices you select
• Payment information — processed securely by Stripe (we never store full card numbers)
• Usage analytics — via Google Analytics to understand how the site is used (no IP addresses logged)

SleepySproutzzz is intended for use by adults (18+) creating stories for children ages 2–8. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

• Do not enter your child's email, full name, or personal information
• Custom names and animals you enter are used only for that story — we never store them
• Parents and guardians must supervise all use by children
• We have an age gate to prevent children from creating accounts

Parental Rights: Parents have the right to review, delete, or refuse further collection of their child's information. Contact us at sleepysproutzzz.app@gmail.com. We respond within 24–48 hours.

• Stripe — to process payments securely (governed by Stripe's privacy policy)
• Google Analytics — for anonymous usage statistics (IP addresses not logged)
• OpenAI — for story generation (stories are not used to train their models)
• Service providers — who help us operate the service under strict confidentiality agreements

You have the right to:

• Request deletion of your account and data
• Request a copy of your data (data export)
• Opt out of marketing emails (service emails still required for account management)
• Correct inaccurate information

• Account data — retained while your account is active
• Generated stories — not stored on our servers (delivered to you only)
• Bookshelf stories — stored in your browser's local storage; lost if you clear browser data or your subscription lapses
• Deleted accounts — data removed within 30 days
• Payment records — retained as required by law for tax/accounting purposes (typically 7 years)

Stories are generated using AI (OpenAI's GPT models). Your prompts and preferences are sent to OpenAI to create stories, but stories are not used to train AI models. We do not share children's names or personal information with AI services.

Our service is operated from the United States. By using SleepySproutzzz, you consent to the transfer and processing of your information in the U.S., where data protection laws may differ from your country.

California residents have additional rights under CCPA, including the right to know what personal information we collect and the right to opt-out of sale. Note: we never sell personal information.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. We will notify you of significant changes via email.
